The residential services offered by Respite Care are designed to provide care to children with special needs who require a temporary home as a result of varied circumstances.
Children may be privately placed in the Davidson Respite House Emergency Shelter for a few days so that parents may attend to a crisis or merely take a weekend off from the constant demands of caring for their child. Additionally, the Davidson Respite House is licensed by the State of Texas to provide shelter to children with developmental disabilities who have been removed from their home as a result of abuse and neglect.
Respite Care is a licensed child placement agency. After a child resides in the Davidson Respite House, they may be placed in a loving foster home with a family trained and supported in providing the care required by a child with special needs.
After a period of time in the Davidson Respite House, many children are ready for a reduced level of specialized care. Respite Care's transitional foster homes provide care for children who are beginning to heal and are awaiting a more permanent placement with a foster or adoptive family.
