Information for Volunteers

Give Your Time. Change a Child's Life.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Respite Care of San Antonio (RCSA).

By giving your time, you help children feel safe, cared for, and encouraged to thrive.

Whether you’re a college student, a parent, or part of a community or corporate group, your service brings hope and strength to families working hard to meet their children’s unique needs.

Why Volunteers Matter

When you volunteer with RCSA, you help children feel safe, cared for, and valued. Your time is a gift that makes a lasting difference. We welcome individuals, families, and groups, and provide flexible opportunities such as:

  • Activities and playtime with children

  • Assisting teachers and caregivers in classrooms

  • Hosting group volunteer service days

  • Helping with special projects and events

Support and Impact

You don’t need special training to make a difference — we’ll provide the tools and guidance you need, and your service will have a real, measurable impact.

  • Curated opportunities for individuals, families, and corporate groups

  • Tours and training included

  • Access to our Volunteer Toolkit

  • In Fiscal Year 2025, a total of 705 volunteers contributed 3,218 hours of service, making a direct difference for children and families
